I agree with the method of teaching the author from this article uses. Small group based on needs and abilities. Much like my classroom. Learning about miscue analysis helps me see what is going wrong with students' readings. But so many of them have great basic reading skills and make very few mistakes while reading the words, yet they are unable to retain much of what they have read. This is what I need help with. Teaching them to retain and understand what they've read.
